Built in 1895, the Coquille River Lighthouse first had a 45 foot tower covered in a protective layer of stucco, and was painted white. When it was abandoned by the Coast Guard in 1939, it was almost destroyed by wind, weather, and vandals. It was later restored by the state. As it is no longer an official coastal beacon, the light is blacked out on the ocean side. It now serves as an attraction of Bullards Beach State Park.
***Directions: Bullards Beach State Park and the lighthouse are located oof U.S. Highway 101 near Bandon.
