North Head Lighthouse, has a white tower that is sixty-five feet tall and stands at the edge of a cliff almost 130 feet high. It now has a rotating aero-marine beacon. It has been said that North Head is the windiest spot in the nation with winds ap speeds as high as 150 miles an hour.

***Directions: From the town of Ilwaco off U.S. Highway 101, follow the signs to Cape Disappointment and Fort Canby State Park. Markers point the way to the lighthouse.
